|||A reserve police constable and a teenager were arrested this week after a vehicle that had been hijacked in Rustenburg was apprehended by police and members of a private security company at Bethanie, near Brits, on Thursday.
North West police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Lesego Metsi said a firearm stolen from the Assen Police Station Community Service Centre on December 2 was in the vehicle.
The reserve constable had been the last person to have the keys to the safe since a firearm and three rounds of ammunition had been found to be missing.
The two are expected to appear in the Brits Magistrates' Court soon. - Sapa
