|||Seven suspected criminals have been shot dead by police in Inanda, KwaZulu-Natal police said on Sunday.
The incident took place at a home on Saturday evening, said Lt-Col Vincent Mdunge.
Police received a tip-off that a “known group of thugs armed to the teeth” were illegally occupying a home.
“When officers arrived at the house, they came under gunfire from within the house,” said Mdunge.
“The police returned fire and all seven were killed.”
Police found three firearms at the scene.
The deceased were aged between 25 and 37, and were linked to crimes in Durban, said Mdunge. - Sapa
