|||The case of two school janitors accused of burying a dog alive was postponed in the Khayelitsha Magistrate's Court, Western Cape police said on Tuesday.
Captain Aaron Mtati said the trial of Poto Mfengu and Mkhumbuzi Ncedana would continue on April 11.
They appeared in the dock on Monday on animal cruelty charges for allegedly burying the dog on the sports field of Luhlaza Secondary High School in October.
A woman who worked in the school's kitchen reported the incident to the Mzananda Animal Clinic shortly after it happened.
The dog, named Warrior by rescuers, was pulled from a 1.5 metre deep pit 30 minutes after she was buried.
Warrior was in good health and adopted by a journalist in January. – Sapa
