A 50-year-old man has been arrested for possession of Mandrax with an estimated street value of R3 million.
|||A 50-year-old man has been arrested for possession of Mandrax with an estimated street value of R3 million, Northern Cape police said on Thursday.
Brigadier Masebueng Mochologi-Maleeme said police stopped a car at a crossborder roadblock at Three Sisters and found 50 000 Mandrax tablets concealed in 50 plastic bags in the boot.
“Police immediately arrested the 50-year-old driver and also confiscated the car as well as the tablets as evidence.”
The man had been travelling from Johannesburg to Cape Town.
He would appear in the Victoria West Magistrate's Court on Friday, on a charge of possession of illegal drugs, said Mochologi-Maleeme. - Sapa
