“His clothing and builder's helmet were left on the shore, but there was no sign of the man and eye-witnesses reported seeing him disappear in the surf while swimming,” said NSRI Bakoven station commander Bruce Davidson.
The 32-year-old man from KwaZulu-Natal was believed to be a contractor working on a building site in the area.
There was no sign of the man during an extensive sea and shore search.
