Two Volksblad newspaper vendors have inherited R25 000 each from a widower who they delivered newspapers to, according to a report on Friday.
The Beeld newspaper reported that brothers Ishmael and Samuel Thebe had delivered newspapers to woman, Annette Dubovsky, for seven years.
She died on March 28 from a heart-attack.
“She invited us in on a regular basis and we discussed our dreams and our problems,” Ishmael told the publication.
“We are very grateful. Mrs Dubovsky was good to us.”
Ishmael said his brother's dream was to become a doctor but neither of them had enough money.
Samuel would now try to register to study medicine. - Sapa
