|||The man accused of defrauding the Zululand district municipality of millions of rands is expected to appear in the Empangeni Regional Court on Friday, KwaZulu-Natal police said.
Lt-Col Vincent Mdunge said Khulani Mngadi, in his 30s, was arrested last month for allegedly defrauding the municipality by posing as a SA Revenue Service (Sars) representative.
He registered a company with a name similar to that of an authentic service provider contracted to the municipality, then stole cheques worth R3.2 million and banked them in his own account. - Sapa
