|||Four men were arrested in Naboomspruit for possession of explosives, Limpopo police said on Sunday.
The four men, arrested in the early hours of Friday morning, allegedly had planned to bomb several safes at large retailers in Naboomspruit (Mookgopong), said Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi.
“Police received a tip-off that there were four men planning to blow up safes at several big retail stores in Mookgopong, with NTK being the first on the list,” he said.
“The four, who are all from Gauteng, were arrested at First Street before their black Proton sedan could take them into the location.”
The men were found in possession of explosives. Police believed the men could be linked to a previous bombing incident at NTK.
The men, aged between 25 and 40, were expected to appear in the Naboomspruit Magistrate's Court on Monday. - Sapa
