|||Three Nelson Mandela Bay metro councillors were killed when their vehicle overturned after swerving to avoid a cow on the R72 near Hopewell, Arrive Alive said on Monday.
Ten other people were injured when the Toyota Quantum left the road and overturned just before 8pm on Sunday, said spokesman Tshepo Machaea.
The injured were taken to hospitals in Port Elizabeth.
It was not known whether the vehicle hit the animal, he said.
The Nelson Mandela Bay metro municipality could not immediately be reached for comment. - Sapa
