A hitch-hiker has been arrested for being in possession of dagga worth R40 000.
|||A hitch-hiker has been arrested for being in possession of dagga in Beaufort West, Western Cape police said on Wednesday.
Captain Bernadine Steyn said the 30-year-old man was picked up by a motorist on the N1, travelling to Aliwal North in the Eastern Cape on Tuesday.
Patrolling police searched the vehicle and found 2kg of dagga on the hiker.
“The drugs are estimated to have a street value of R40 000,” said Steyn.
He will appear in the Beaufort West Magistrate's Court on Thursday. - Sapa
