The City of Tshwane says its employees were not among the violent protesters in Pretoria.
|||Tshwane employees were not among the violent protesters who trashed streets and damaged property in Pretoria, the City of Tshwane said on Wednesday.
“The city would like to state that none of its waste management employees are on strike,” said spokeswoman Nomasonto Ndlovu.
“The violent protesters... are disgruntled former employees of a labour broker,” she said.
No reasons had been given for the protests on Monday in which a municipal truck was damaged.
Ndlovu said individuals had been warned against further criminal activity. – Sapa
