|||Johannesburg - Four people were shot dead in the Mimosa informal settlement in Kew, near Marlboro, Gauteng police said on Tuesday.
Lt-Col Katlego Mogale said five people were warming themselves around a brazier in an open space on Monday night when two men approached and fired shots at them.
Four were killed and a wounded survivor was receiving treatment at a local hospital. Residents who heard the shots alerted police.
Mogale said the motive for the killing was unknown as nothing had been taken from the victims.
She said their next of kin had not yet been informed. - Sapa
