|||A man was killed and two others injured when a petrol tanker and bakkie collided and burst into flames at the Stofburg-Carolina crossing in Belfast, Mpumalanga paramedics said on Friday.
“An errant party turned into the path of the other, the petrol tanker slammed into the side of the bakkie and pushed it through the junction. Both vehicles then caught fire,” Netcare 911 spokesman Jeffrey Wicks said.
Two men were flung from the bakkie on impact.
“One had succumbed to his injuries and the other was in a critical condition. The critically injured man, as well as the seriously injured truck driver, were treated and stabilised at the scene and transported by ambulance to hospitals in Middelburg.” – Sapa
