|||Meyerton, Gauteng - A policeman has been arrested for accepting a bribe from a man he was investigating at a Meyerton taxi rank, Gauteng police said on Tuesday.
His arrest came after someone laid a charge against him on Monday, said Captain Shado Mashobane.
“Police set up a trap and urged the complainant to continue with a transaction he had with the officer.”
Mashobane said the policeman was arrested shortly after accepting money from the complainant.
“An amount of R4900 was found at the scene where the arrest was made.”
The officer was expected to appear in the Vereeniging Magistrate's Court on Wednesday. - Sapa
