A father and son are set to appear in court for possession of more than 10 000 perlemoen.
|||A father and son are expected to appear in the Hermanus Magistrate's Court on Monday for possession of more than 10 000 perlemoen (abalone), the fisheries department said.
Spokesman Lionel Adendorf said the two were arrested in Stanford on Thursday evening, when officials found 10 408 perlemoen in a Toyota Quantum.
The car had been concealed among trees and bushes off the Salmonsdam Road.
Adendorf called on communities to report illegal fishing and harvesting. – Sapa
