Mpumalanga - ANC chief whip Mathole Motshekga visited two parliamentary constituency offices (PCO) in Mpumalanga on Monday.

“The two constituency offices (Acornhoek and Agincourt in the Ehlanzeni region) were applauded by the communities for being accessible and efficient,” Motshekga said in a statement.

“(They) are fully functional under the leadership of the deployed MPs and MPLs.”

The visit was part of the African National Congress parliamentary caucus's countrywide programme aimed at assessing the distribution, accessibility, and administrative functionality of the party's 264 PCOs, and the effect of parliamentary outreach programmes on residents.

Motshekga said more than 100 people attended Monday's meeting.

Officials from the departments of health, education, home affairs and agriculture also gave updates on some service delivery problems.

“Community members were given an opportunity to raise concerns and issues affecting them, particularly as far as service delivery is concerned,” he said.

Problems raised included water supply, electricity, lack of space for graveyards, and unemployment.

Motshekga will visit Hazyview on Tuesday and Wednesday. - Sapa
