Netcare 911 spokesman Jeffrey Wicks said the 19-year-old was walking down a road when he stepped on an exposed wire from an illegal electrical connection.
The man's brother, who had been walking with him, and bystanders rushed the man to the Stanza Bopape Clinic, where paramedics found him.
He was placed on a manual ventilator before being airlifted to Milpark Hospital. - Sapa
