|||Johannesburg - Two structures have been destroyed by a veld fire that is burning out of control in the Slanghoek Valley near Worcester in the Boland, the SABC reported on Sunday.
Some farm owners were voluntarily fleeing their homes as the fire, fanned by strong winds, approached their properties, the public broadcaster said.
The fire has been raging since Saturday night.
Fifteen fire engines, 150 ground personnel and three helicopters were reportedly trying to douse the flames.
The Bainskloof mountain pass between Wellington and Ceres has been closed due to poor visibility.
There has been minimal damage to the local vineyards at this stage and no reports of injuries.
