Three people were killed and five were critically injured in a rush-hour accident in Diepsloot on Tuesday.

Nine people were being treated for minor injuries they suffered when two taxis taking commuters home after work collided head on in Summit Road at 4pm, said spokesman Robert Mulaudzi.
The crash caused a major traffic delay on the busy route.
One of the injured, a toddler, was airlifted to the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic hospital. The others were taken to Tembisa hospital.
The dead were two women and a man. Seven ambulances from Netcare, the Gauteng provincial ambulance service and the City of Johannesburg were at the scene.
Summit Road had been closed.
