A case against a man charged with raping 33 girls between the ages of 10 and 14 has been postponed.
|||A case against a man charged with raping 33 girls between the ages of 10 and 14 was postponed in the Alberton Magistrate's Court on Friday.
Police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Lungelo Dlamini the 40-year-old man would be back in court for a bail application on February 28.
He has also been charged with 33 counts of attempted murder.
The man – who cannot be identified at this stage – was arrested in Edenpark at the end of January.
This was after one of the alleged victims followed him to his home and alerted the police.
The girls, from Katlehong, Thokoza, and Vosloorus, were allegedly lured to an open veld and raped between 2007 and 2011.
Forensic evidence had been produced but further tests were being done.
