“Reports from the scene indicate that the children were travelling on the back of a bakkie when they were hit in the side by a light motor vehicle,” Netcare 911 spokesman Chris Botha said.
Paramedics found two of the children seriously injured. The remaining seven had minor to moderate injuries. The children were stabilised at the scene and taken to the Port Shepstone Provincial Hospital.
Police would investigate the cause of the crash, Botha said. - Sapa
