|||Five people were arrested for public violence during a protest over education in Gilead, in Limpopo's Waterberg area on Friday, police said.
Three women and two men, aged between 18 and 48, were part of a group who “went on the rampage” and blocked a road, Lt-Col Mohale Ramatseba said in a statement.
They blocked the N11 near Mokopane in the early morning by burning tyres, because their village did not have a school. Ramatseba said more arrests were imminent. The five were expected to appear in the Gilead Magistrate's Court on Monday. - Sapa
