|||Tshwane deputy metro police chief Ndumiso Jaca would be served a summons to appear in court, the Independent Complaints Directorate (ICD) said on Saturday.
“The investigator must prepare the summons that will be submitted to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). The DPP will authorise the summons before it will be served,” spokesman Moses Dlamini said.
“The DPP has decided to charge him (Jaca) on a number of charges.”
Dlamini for legal reasons was unable to give further details on the charges, when the summons would be served or when Jaca would appear in court.
Last year, Tshwane mayor Kgosientso Ramokgopa put Jaca on special leave amid allegations he used the same number plate for his motorbike and car.
“The Independent Complaints Directorate has now forwarded its report to the Hawks. They will communicate with us if they have taken a decision whether to prosecute or not,” Ramokgopa said.
Jaca's three-month-long special leave was extended in January. - Sapa
