A gang of six men disarmed the security guards at the shop's door and forced the manager to open the safe, said Captain Pinky Tsinyane.
The men began shooting randomly as they left the shop, wounding two customers and a security guard.
One of the men was arrested shortly after the robbery. Police were still searching for the others by late afternoon.
The three people wounded in the robbery were taken to hospital, Tsinyane said. - Sapa
