Four men have been arrested in connection with the murder of a woman in Nhlanhleni.
|||Four men have been arrested in connection with the murder of a woman in Nhlanhleni, KwaZulu-Natal police said on Saturday.
The men, aged between 32 and 34, were found in possession of a number of illegal firearms when they were arrested by police on Friday morning, said Lt-Col Vincent Mdunge.
The men are alleged to have murdered a 30-year-old woman on Christmas Eve in the area approximately 60km south of Dundee
One of the men was also charged with the unlawful possession of an AK47 -which is believed to be the murder weapon.
Another man was charged with the unlawful possession of a revolver, pistol, shotgun and 67 rounds of ammunition.
Those arrested were expected to appear in the Nhlanhleni Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
In a separate incident, police arrested two men and a woman for the illegal possession of firearms.
One man was found in possession of an unlicensed pistol and 14 rounds of ammunition. The other man was found in possession of an unlicensed revolver. The woman was found with an illegal AK 47 with two magazines.
All three are also expected to appear in the Nhlanhleni Magistrate's Court on Tuesday. - Sapa
