|||A man has been arrested for torching his ex-girlfriend's house in Zitulele township, near Butterworth, Eastern Cape police said on Sunday.
Captain Jackson Manatha said the 28-year-old man was arrested early on Sunday.
He said the man forced open the door to his ex-girlfriend's home and sprayed paraffin over her bed on Saturday night.
He then set fire to the house, causing damage estimated at R30,000.
The woman escaped unharmed through a window.
The man faced a charge of arson and would appear in the Butterworth Magistrate's Court on Monday, Manatha said. - Sapa
