|||A car crashed into the Braamfonteinspruit off Cheetah crescent, in Bryanston, Johannesburg, on Sunday, paramedics said.
The driver appeared to have lost control of the car as it turned a corner, and it crashed through a roadside barrier, said ER24
spokeswoman Vanessa Jackson.
The silver sedan, with three men inside, drove over 50 metres of rock before finally landing in the river, she said.
A resident called the emergency services and said he had heard screeching tyres and a loud crash.
When paramedics and the Lonehill fire department arrived, the only indication of the accident was the crushed roadside barrier.
The vehicle was too far down the river to be seen from the road.
“The resident's information just may have saved these three young men's lives,” said Jackson. - Sapa
