Constable Consolation Mokoale said police, acting on a tip-off, arrested the 30-year-old man in a house in Turflaagte near Bloemfontein.
The 39-year-old woman, her 13-year-old daughter and nine-month-old baby boy were found dead in their shack on Sunday by a neighbour.
The teenager's body was found in the kitchen, her mother's in the bedroom, and the infant's on the bedroom floor.
The woman had been stabbed several times in the chest and back. The girl had been strangled with an electric cord and the baby's neck had been broken.
Mokoale said the man, believed to be the woman’s boyfriend, would appear in the Botshabelo Magistrates' Court on Friday. He faced three charges of murder. – Sapa
