Monye was applying for bail in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court. He faces charges of murder, conspiracy to murder, and illegal possession of a firearm.
Chanelle Henning was killed in a drive-by shooting in Faerie Glen in November last year.
Monye, Willem Pieterse, police detective Gerhardus du Plessis, Preshan Singh and Andre Gouws were arrested days after Henning's murder.
