|||The body of a six-year-old girl who went missing from Mbekweni, in Paarl, has not been found even though her alleged murderer pointed out where he dumped it, Western Cape police said on Tuesday.
“Langa Mbijana, 27, confessed to the murder on Thursday and was charged the same day,” said Colonel Cornelius Geldenhuys.
“We searched for her body at a nearby dam in the bird sanctuary, but it was called off Saturday.”
Asemahla Ntsabo went missing near her home in Mbekweni on January 21.
Geldenhuys said the police's diving unit, air wing, search and rescue dogs and trackers had taken part in the search.
“The municipality even drained the dam and water levels dropped by 1.5 metres, but she was not found,” he said.
Mbijana appeared in the Paarl Magistrate's Court on Friday. He will remain in custody until the court set a postponement date. - Sapa
