|||A man was killed and another was wounded in a shoot out with the police in Tsutsumane village, near Alexandra, Johannesburg, on Tuesday, Gauteng police said.
This followed a robbery at a shop around 11am, Lt-Col Katlego Mogale said.
Six armed men entered the shop, bound employees with cable ties and took their jewellery, laptops, cellphones, and a car. They then fled.
The Johannesburg flying squad received information which led them to Tsutsumane village, said Mogale. Police ordered the men to surrender, but they opened fire instead.
One of the robbers was killed and another was wounded in the ensuing shoot out. Another two robbers were arrested, said Mogale.
They were expected to appear in the Alexandra Magistrate's Court on Thursday. Police were looking for the other two men. - Sapa
